The Earth is destroyed. The surviving humans took off aboard the spaceships of the Xerxes corporation.  A new planet is found and a reconnaissance team is sent. However a mysterious tragedy strikes the reconnaissance ship. You play as Sandman, a member of the rescue crew who goes to investigate the causes of the tragedy.
